About us

The central hub for media feeds in the UK

spotluxmi exists to train the people behind the picture: video operators, signal engineers and camera crews who keep news programmes and television broadcasts on air.

Our story

We started as a small group of broadcast operators who kept being asked the same question by newcomers: where can I learn this properly? Most of what we knew came from long shifts and a few patient colleagues.

So we built a course that puts that knowledge in order. It covers professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution and camera work, and it is taught in a working training studio rather than a lecture hall.

Today we run small cohorts in the evening, at weekends and in intensive blocks, so learners from every background can find a route into broadcasting.

What we stand for

Reliability first

A feed that fails on air is a feed nobody remembers for its quality. We teach redundancy, monitoring and calm decision-making from day one.

Learn by doing

Every session happens on real cameras, routers and monitoring tools, so the skills you build are the ones you will use in a gallery.

Built with the industry

Our tutors work in news and live television, and the course changes as the way feeds are produced and delivered changes.
