Foundation Feed Operator
The starting point: signal flow, video formats, monitoring and the habits that keep a feed clean from the first frame to the last.
Media feed course for UK broadcasters
spotluxmi is the central hub for professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution and camera work. Learn to deliver reliable, high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting.
Straight answers about who the programme suits, how it runs and what you will be doing week to week.
Aspiring and working video operators, camera assistants, runners and technical staff who want a structured route into live news and television operations.
No. The Foundation module starts with signal flow and monitoring basics. Later modules assume you have completed it or have equivalent hands-on experience.
Most of it. Every module is built around studio and kit-room sessions, so you handle real cameras, routers and monitoring tools rather than slides.

Broadcast cameras with full camera control, vision mixers, signal routers, monitoring and measurement tools, and encoders used for contribution and distribution feeds.
Cohorts are small so everyone gets time on the kit. Evening and weekend groups run alongside each other, and each module has its own start date.
Yes. Each module is sold separately, and the Complete Feed Operator Pathway bundles all of them at a lower combined price.
Every learner who passes the practical assessment receives a course certificate for the module or pathway they completed.

Reliable feeds are the backbone of every news programme. A single dropped signal or badly framed shot can cost a broadcaster its audience, and the people who prevent that are skilled operators who understand the whole chain.
Our course brings camera work, signal management and distribution together in one place. You learn the craft the way it is practised in a working gallery: calmly, precisely and with a plan for when something goes wrong.

Everything you need to go from learner to confident operator.
